LG’s GD910 has got some competition. Samsung has introduced its watchphone dubbed as S9110 and is the world’s thinnest measuring a thickness of just 11.98mm.

S9110 will be released in France for about 450 Euros ($639).

The watchphone supports 900/1800MHz, 40MB internal memory and 630mAh battery.

Samsung surprised us today with the launch of an affordable solar powered mobile phone in India. We were banking on the Blue Earth phone but it’s the Solar Guru (Guru E1107) that will make its way first to the commercial market.
The phone won’t be looked upon for its features but rather for its solar charging prowess, which for 1 hour of solar charging can give around 5-10 minutes of talk time. It supports dual GSM bands (900/1800MHz) and includes a 1.52-inches 65K CSTN screen, FM Radio, MP3 ringtones, torch, Mobile Tracker, Fake Call and a 800mAh battery.

Apart from India, Solar Guru will also be launched in June in Europe, Southeast Asia, Southwest Asia and Latin America.

It will go for just Rs. 2,799 ($59).

Samsung has recently announced an addition to their Pixon line of mobile handsets, the Pixon 12. The Pixon has been around for a while and has been known to feature high resolution cameras. And if you’ve been paying attention you’ll know that as far back as February Samsung was rumored to be working on a 12MP phone.

Well, the Pixon 12 takes this to a whole new level featuring a 12MP camera that Samsung seems very excited about saying it’s a world’s first. However, the camera’s resolution isn’t the only thing that makes this a beautiful handset as it also has a 3.1″ AMOLED touch screen with a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, a fast-image saving feature with only 2 seconds of downtime between shots, an auto-focus feature, a 28mm wide angle lens and WiFi support.

Word has it the Pixon 12 will make its way to Europe in June and other regions sometime after.

Samsung Pixon M8800 Review

Posted by Wonderful-Tricks

The Samsung pixon is sleek slide phone with an 8mega pixel and is also called the Samsung M8800.The pixon is by far the most pretty especially with its standard looks. The pixon has a touch screen making the user access files or make calls quick.

The front screen is large and is able to display more than twelve icons plus the wall paper and screen saver. It weighs 122g.The weight is a bit chunky. However considering some other phones the pixon weighs lesser. The phone has a plastic casing which helps minimize the weight. The Samsung pixon has a hold button on the left edge with a switcher key that creates a grid of short cuts.

Another feature of the pixon is that it has a micro SD card slot which will allow the user to boost his memory if he needs to .The pixon has an average storage of 200MB which is built in. There are different memory cards that can be purchased like the 1GB and 2GB.On the right edge of the Samsung pixon is a button which doubles as an instant shortcut to the camera and camera options and settings. The other is the volume button which also adds up as a double zoom manager in the camera.

Samsung is a big phone company and are the creators of the pixon M8800.The picture clarity is the most amazing feature of the phone. The phone has a much high clarity than some photographic cameras. The pixon was even confirmed by t3 to be the best gadget in the market. The phone was given two thumbs up for its great features. The phone is slim and has been marketed world wide. Especially for its thinness of 13.8mm.Entertainment is the reason why people like the pixon. It can store up to 200 songs without a memory card? Videos can also be captured at 30fps (720*480 resolution) and even take a film in slow motion.

Bluetooth is also one of the phones features, this network enables the owner to change and receive data from another phone with the same feature. Its battery lasts for three days unlike the other Samsung models. The screen is automatic and helps the owner save more battery by reducing the back light when the phone is not been used. The phone book memory is high and thee user can save over a thousand contacts. Other features of the phone are alarms, calendar, to do lists, reminder settings, calculators and timers. When buying this phone from a shop it comes with a data cable, a charger and also an instruction booklet.

LG Viewty II is on the way

Posted by Wonderful-Tricks

First official information on the Viewty II, now also known as the Viewty Smart, has just been published by LG’s official German blog! LG seems to have hired Motorola’s newly announced MOTOROKR W6 as a personal trainer for the Viewty Smart, as the new handset is now in top shape, with a thickness of less than half an inch (12.4 mm) and weight of only 3.17 oz (90 grams). Similarly to the ARENA, the touch-sensitive screen here will measure at three inches, on which you’ll be able to pleasantly view favorite photos and videos, shot with the 8-megapixel camera, time and time again.

Fortunately (and quite naturally too), the phone will be using LG’s 3D S-Class User Interface. The manufacturer informs that personalization options will be taken to a new level here, but we are not sure whether there will be something in addition to what we have already seen in the lovely ARENA (see our preview here). The camera interface does seem a bit different though. There is an on-screen slider key used for switching between still image shooting mode and video capturing, which, by the way, will be done at up to 720×480 pixels resolution. Other features will include a GPS for geotagging of images, Wi-Fi and HSDPA connectivity. This one definitely looks very interesting, so we promise to keep track of it and inform you of everything new around it. Pricing and release dates are not announced yet, but at least we can say that Orange’s logo is seen on one of the images, which confirms the previous rumors that the carrier would offer the phone.

Coral-200-Solar: First Solar Powered Mobile

Posted by Wonderful-Tricks

Digicel announced the launch of a new solar-powered handset at MWC 2009 this week called the Coral-200-Solar. The handset has solar panels on the rear of the phone. The company has been providing free and low cost solar chargers with phones it sells for a while but this is the first handset to integrate solar panels into the design.

Very little is known about the features and specifications of the handset other than it is powered by the sun. It would be safe to assume that the handset is very basic and likely has call features only to ensure low power needs.

Digicel serves many rural areas in developing countries where access to electricity is limited. The handset is expected to launch in select markets in June. I think that the device would be appealing to consumers in the US who are away from electricity for extended periods as well.

Via Digicel

Among the likes of Omnia HD and Bead DJ, Samsung has also presented the GT-S5600 at MWC 2009 – a handset that, apparently, was ignored by almost everyone. By the looks of it, Samsung S5600 will be launched as an affordable touchscreen phone, hence it might be competing with LG Cookie. Details about the features of S5600 are scarce, but we can see that it uses Samsung’s TouchWiz UI (without Windows Mobile, so it’s not a smartphone). No word yet on when we’ll get to see the Samsung S5600 in stores, but the South Korean company probably intends to release it as soon as possible.

It first appeared in a stray MWC 2009 billboard, then mentioned in a press release issued by Samsung earlier. Now, the Samsung M7600 BeatDJ has finally been officially unveiled, and here are the official photos and specs to prove it. Don’t disregard it as just another model that will be forgotten, because it looks like Samsung looked at music phones from a unique perspective to create this.

Falling into the not earth shattering but definitely noteworthy category at MWC today, LG previewed a very cool upcoming handset that definitely caught our attention. LG rarely comes up short when it comes to the design element of a handset and the GD900 takes things to a new level. As you can see in the image above, the handset has a slider form factor that reveals a completely transparent keypad.

Motion Detecting SIM Card

Posted by Wonderful-Tricks

While we’re seeing accelerometers appear in many modern cell phones, the folks over at Oberthur Technologies have a different take on the matter, as they’ve come up with the first motion detecting and handset-independent SIM card, dubbed SIMsense. Some of the applications of such a device include allowing users to shake their phone when receiving a call in order to send out a preset SMS, or dial an emergency contact if a sudden fall is detected. It remains to be seen how widely this technology will be adopted though.

Samsung will launch a total of four new touchscreen phones at Mobile World Congress, which are the Samsung S8300 Ultra Touch, Samsung i8910 OmniaHD, Samsung BeatDJ and Samsung BeatDisc. All phones and a few of their feature have now been confirmed via a Samsung-sourced press release that relates to the company’s announcements for MWC 2009. More specs of the Samsung OmniaHD, BeatDJ and BeatDisc after the break.

Source: Samsung Central

The Samsung S8300 Ultra Touch, comes with a 2.8-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, 8 megapixel camera, 3D TouchWiz UI, 12.7mm thickness and uses glass and aluminum in its casing.
The Samsung OmniaHD according to Samsung’s press release will really be the world’s first phone to record 720P HD video with an 8 megapixel camera, featuring HD-level play (Internal: QHD, external: HD), and it will have various other features that made the original Omnia great (you could guess 16GB/32GB memory, Wi-Fi, GPS, HSDPA, etc.).
Moving on to the Samsung BeatDJ (M7600) and BeatDISC (M6710), it is said that these phones were designed after the club DJ’s turntables, in their so-called DISC UI, that is.
These upcoming phones will also have the following features: artist and song information retrieval, location-based services with support for 3D maps, and Facebook, MySpace, Flickr, and Picasa photo integration for easy photo uploads.

Levi’s mobile phone

The stainless steel housing is characterized by ornamental screws which gives the phone a solid appearance. The cell phone is compact and thin with dimensions of 3.8 x 2.2 x 0.4 inch. It therefore fits perfectly in your pocket. The Levi Strauss & Co logo is evident at the back of the cell phone. The microphone and camera lens are both integrated in the black part of the phone’s top side. Levi’s obviously have put time and effort in developing the design to meet the fashion-conscious consumer.

The left selector button, leads you to the main menu with two different styles available for displaying it. These are ‘Matrix, a 3×3 division of icons and ‘Page’ at which icons are rendered sequentially when pressing the button to the right of the navigation key.

The nine icons offer access to the phone book, messages, calling history, settings, multimedia, fun, tools, services and file management. Time and battery status are only rendered in standby mode, which is inconvenient at times. In addition the menus are straightforward and well-structured. Samsung Electronics has unveiled a solar-powered full touchscreen phone called “Blue Earth”. No eco launch is complete without earthy PR speak, so the Blue Eartch is apparently designed to “symbolise a flat and well rounded shiny pebble”. More importantly, the Blue Earth is the first such phone to the market and charges up via the solar panel on the back of the phone, apparently generating enough electronic power to make a call anytime. Adding to those green credentials, the Blue Earth is made from a recycled plastic called PCM, which is extracted from water bottles. Both the handset, and its charger, is free from harmful substances such as Brominated Flame Retardants, Beryllium and Phthalate.

Source: Pocket Lint

Samsung says the Blue Earth comes with a unique user interface designed “to draw attention to preserving our fragile environment”.
Screen brightness, backlight duration and Bluetooth can all be adjusted in an energy-efficient mode called “Eco mode”.
In addition there’s an “eco walk” function that lets the user count their steps with an in-built pedometer, calculating how much CO2 emissions have been reduced (and therefore how many trees have been saved) by walking as opposed to taking the car.
With recycled packaging, an energy efficient charger, the Samsung Blue Earth will be available in the UK during the second half of 2009.

HTC TyTN 2 Mobile Phone

Posted by Wonderful-Tricks

It’s capabilities in all aspects of usability, design and connectivity, makes the HTC TYTN II an ideal replacement or substitute to a laptop, only you can keep it in your pocket or handbag. With Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS and 3G built-in GPS a large screen, 3G HSDPA, included the HTC TYTN II also known as the o2XDA Stellar is quite possibly one of the best-equipped mobile smart phones on the market, as most users’ needs are catered for. The various communication options as mentioned above keep you in constant reach. The build-quality on the TYTN II is outstanding. The applications are easy to run and use.

Keyboards are not a fascinating feature on smart phones but the HTC begs to differ. The keyboard slides out from the right-hand side rather unique to the left which is characteristic of most mobile, but after being fully slid out, the keypad can then be slid upwards to a diagonal slant. This becomes a much more sensible idea because it combines a good-viewing angle with better elevation when typing in motion, compared to other smart phones. As well as having all the attributes and essential applications of a home computer it does a stylish imitation too. The keyboard is complete to the smallest detail with status lights for caps lock and shift functions. The 3-Mega Pixel module fitted to the TYTN II deserves to be known as one of the best camera modules fitted to a smartphone

Characteristic of the device is also a large amount of controls to be found underneath the screen. These include central navigation and soft-keys. There’s also a direct Internet Explorer button and a messaging key Windows Hot-Key, a. The UI included is relatively user-friendly, especially with a version of HTC’s TouchFLO included to allow for increased user interactivity. There’s also a navigation wheel located on the left-hand side with a dedicated ‘OK’ button underneath the wheel.

Adding to the all-round capabilities is the integration of a GPS-receiver. Also included in the package is also a ‘Taster’ version of the Tom Tom Navigator 6 software which allows download of one European City map free of charge.
