A team of movie experts, along with the user community have worked on the site’s Movie Genome project, mapping over 50 aspects of each movie, from mood, plot, structure, to awards won. The user can search according to these characteristics to generate a list of recommended movies. Each title has around fifty genes, the Web site also assigns a set of ‘genes’ for each user, based on his tastes and dislikes.
